Coming to the Lord’s kingdom is not something you can earn. It is not performance-based. You cannot work your way into the eternal love of God. Rather, you just accept it. As Paul writes in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
It is a gift from God that you accept believing in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. Faith is required to please the heart of God, but it's not the only step. Faith produces action (Romans 10:17, John 3:16). Faith is the assurance of what we hope for and being positive of something that has not yet happened (Hebrews 11:1). For instance, you have faith that when you work your employer will pay you. You trust your employer, and you have no reason to doubt their trustworthiness. Therefore, you plan your finances around the income they provide you. If you don't work, you won't receive the pay.
Likewise, you have faith that God will fulfill His promise of holding you in His arms. You have faith that He exists because you have experienced His unconditional love and forgiveness. The way to secure your place in the Kingdom of God is to have faith in Jesus and then act on that faith!
Faith is just one step in the right direction. There are other steps that are necessary for getting your seat reserved.
